Mini-Mites is a semi-structured program. This class is for children 18 months of age and older. This class is great for developing your child's listening skills as well as how to take turns. One parent/guardian will join their child in a fun filled 45 minute class that includes the following:

- One coach will instruct the parent/guardian in teaching their children the fundamentals of gymnastics.
- They will start with an 8-10 minute stretch.
- Children and parent/guardian will follow an obstacle course to learn skills such as:

  • Beam: Walking forward, backwards, and sidways, crawling, marching
  • Bars: Monkey flip, front support, monkey walks, swinging
  • Floor: Forward and backward rolls, log rolls, puddle jumps, wall walkers
  • Vault: How to jump on the spring board with 2 feet, straight jump, tuck jump
  • Tramp: Jump and freeze, tuck jumps, ins and outs, puppy drops
  • AND MUCH MORE!

Twinklers must be 3-5 years old within the first week of the session. Children must be potty trained as well. Students will put their listening skills into good use in this program. They will start with a 10 min. stretch then the kids will move from station to station, with a coach rotating themselves around to help each child. Some of the skills they will learn include the following:
  • Beam: Walking  forward, backwards, and sideways, crawling, marching
  • Bars: Monkey flip. front support, monkey walks, swinging
  • Floor: Forward and backwards rolls, log rolls, puddle jumps, wall walkers
  • Vault: How to jump on the spring board with 2 feet, straight jump
  • Tramp: Jump and freeze, tuck jumps, ins and outs, puppy drops

*These skills are the same as the mini mites. The difference is they are now doing it all on their own, as well as moving from station to station verses an obstacle course.

Shooting Stars must have passed all the Twinklers skills and  been tested into this class by their current coach. Twinkers skills and Shooting Stars skills may seem very similar to the naked eye. Here are some of the differences you will find within this class:
  • Beam: Walking on toes rather than flat footed.
  • Bars: Adding a reverse jump to the monkey flip, adding a swing to their spider hang
  • Floor: Cartwheel rather than a puddle jump, kicking up to handstand rather than walking up the wall.
  • Vault: Squat on mats rather than knees on mats.
  • Tramp: Full turn rather than ½ turn, straddle jumps rather than ins and outs.

Comets must have passed all the Shooting Stars skills and been tested into this class by their instructor. This class is designed for those students who are not yet 5, but are ready to start working on higher level skills. All backward skills, which are in Hot Shots, have been removed from this level's lesson plan. This class will be run in the main gyms as is Hot Shots. Students will pass to Hot Shots when they turn 5. Here are some skills that Comets will be working on.
  • Beam: Arabesques, pivot turns, V-sits, forward rolls
  • Bars: Pullover with light spot, front support with 3 casts
  • Floor: ¾ handstand, cartwheel with straight legs, splits
  • Vault: 3 bounces to handstand, dive roll over small octagon
  • Tramp: Tuck, straddle combo, seat drop puppy drop forward roll, split jumps

Hot Shots must have passed all the Shooting Stars skills and been tested into this class by their current coach. Students need to be 5-6 years of age at the start of the session. From this class children who turn 7 within the session will either go to Beginner 1 or 2 depending on their skill achievements. Here are some of the skills your child will be learning in this class.
  • Beam: V-sit with hands, forward roll with feet on the floor, scale
  • Bars: Swing kickover block, pullover with lite spot, front support with 3 casts
  • Floor: ¾ handstand, cartwheel, bridge with wall walk over
  • Vault: 3 bounces to handstand, dive roll over small octagon
  • Tramp: Tuck, straddle combo, back handspring rollover octagon
